The Chesapeake Conference values its members as precious children of God—including attending members, those who haven't been in awhile, and former members.
The Connect 2 Reconnect ministry is an intiative of Chesapeake Conference churches to connect with inactive and former members in order to reconnect them to Jesus and His church.
An important part of Connect 2 Reconnect is our Conference-wide Reconnecting Sabbath on April 5, 2014. (This date might vary if you have multiple churches in your district.)
This special Sabbath will be advertised in the Columbia Union Visitor magazine, inviting readers to attend a church near them on April 5. Since all inactive members potentially receive the Visitor, we are hoping they will see the ad and choose to attend. (They will also receive other invitations through a letter from their pastor, a phone call from the church, from active member friends, etc.) In order to facilitate their finding a church to attend, we have created this website where participating churches are listed along with the date of their Reconnecting Sabbath.
Therefore, we need you to register your church so that people will know the date of your Reconnecting Sabbath and where your church is located. Select the Sign Up Your Church link below to register your church. When registering, please upload a photo of your church to provide some graphic diversity to the page. Don't forget to select "Save" when you are done. Your registration will go into a pending file and then will be published by the webmaster.
The list of churches will display either in an alphabetical city or church name list. We will also show an interactive map of the Conference showing the locations with their information. (BTW, the look of the site may change from what you currently see here.)
